China's belligerence

On the eve of elections at three states of Maharashtra,Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh, the Indian Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh visited Tawang, the disputed area of the Arunachal pradesh to support the Congress party.Tawang is a disputed area, especially since 1962 war with China.China considers this Tibetan monastry town as part of "South Tibet." Though Arunachal Pradesh has been part and parcel of India, China has never accepted this due to the historical factors. It does not consider the "McMahon Line" as the genuine boundary.between the two countries. The comments by the foriegn minister of China that its disturbing to see the Indian leaders visiting Aruanchal Pradesh shows the belligerent attitude of China in the recent days. That too, the comments coming at the time of election shows its not a mere coincidence though the chinese say that it is a coincidence.India should be more assertive and should not bend to the chinese tactics of bullying.Though its a fact that China is way ahead of India in terms of economy and military, this kind of attitude shows its dual-tongue behaviour of the chinese dragon similar to that of the USA.China should be restraint on making such comments which damage the bilateral relations between the two nations.Already due to exaggeration of the Indian media about the chinese incursions, the relations are becoming weaker. Both countries should be restraint and should keep this issues to the conference level meetings rather than at media level to alleviate the issue. The peace between the two fast developing countries is not only important to the stability of Asia but also the world.
